The Live Better Committee has decided to try a new Smoup we are calling Learn More. At each Smoup, someone (maybe you!) will teach those who attend to do something. For example, one month someone might be teaching us to enjoy wine, another month it might be dancing, and the next month might be how to give good hand and foot massage. If you have a skill or specialized knowledge you would like to share, or something you would like to learn, let me know.
For the first Learn More, I am teaching how to make beaded jewelry. With two simple skills (making a loop and crimping), you can make lots of different pieces. I've taught lots of people to do this and everyone is surprised at how easy it really is, so don't think you need any special talent or artistic tendencies to enjoy this.
We will be making a pair of earrings and a necklace or bracelet. The photos are examples of the type I have in mind. You can make yours longer, or shorter, or with different permutations of beads. :) I will bring my stash of beads, so you will have plenty to choose from, but if you know you would like to use certain beads, bring them. Old beaded necklaces are a fun source of beads. I will bring all the other supplies as well. Anyone 12 and older is welcome. I'm limiting this to 15 so that everyone there gets enough hands-on assistance.
